The NAWCC School of Horology offers Professional Watch Courses that may be taken independent of the standard programs offered. Availability is limited and there may be a waiting list.


Horological Lathes
August 2-20, 2010


This course combines lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on applications to address the history of horological lathes as well as disassembly and assembly, cleaning and oiling, and operation of the major lathe attachments. Projects include some toolmaking.

Watch Technician
December 6-17, 2010
(Break for Holiday, resumes January 10-21, 2011.)

The course covers battery (quartz) watch service: movement, crystals, crowns, batteries, stems, bands, bracelets, and case tubes.

Chronographs
February 28-March 18, 2011

This course combines lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on application to address the history of the chronograph watch and modern chronograph servicing. The ETA 7750, today’s most widely used Swiss chronograph, is introduced. This course also introduces disassembly/assembly and proper servicing as well as movement adjustment.
